3/28_Class Session (Wolf Dog)

Sketch Count: 100

This week we drew from canine references, mostly wolf images, and later had a session with an actual wolf dog! Figuring out the bone structure of the legs was very difficult to get a grasp on. Especially the hind legs, which when the wolf dog, Lucian, would walk or jump were difficult to capture.

3/14_Class Session (Model and Cattle)

Sketch Count: 100

This week in class we drew from a live model! She had a variety of poses that were great to draw from, especially when it came to posing with drapery. I worked a lot more with getting an indication of her face into the gestures as well as working more with straights and curves.

Then at the Ohio Fair Grounds there was a cattle show! The cows didn't have much variety to draw from, however they were great for figuring out straights and curves! Especially with their body shaping. The legs at times were hard to figure out the structure of though because of the fluff.

3/13_Homework (Sharks)

Sketch Count: 50

For homework this week we had to draw animals and I chose the great white shark! I watched three various videos to see how they swim and how they hunt by leaping after seals in the air. It was really nice capturing how they turn their body.

3/7_Class Session (Alpacas)

Sketch Count: 100

This week our class went out to draw alpacas at the fairgrounds! Figuring out the form of the alpacas wasn't too difficult, especially since they didn't shift around too fast. It was also great to see the different kinds of alpacas and try to capture their form compared to the other various breeds. I particularly had a bit of difficulty drawing their legs at times. Especially since their legs all differ when it comes to how puffy their coat was on the front of the legs.

2/28_Class Session (Arnold Expo)

Sketch Count: 100

This week we headed to the Arnold Expo to draw athletes participating in competitions! Walking around and seeing all the booths and activities going on was a lot of fun! Also, finding seating to just relax and draw everyone was nice as well. I really enjoyed drawing the fencers and their poses! I even watched some of the gymnasts do their floor and bar routines, which was pretty neat.  I had some difficulty at first figuring out how large I wanted to draw my gestures, also figuring out how to do the facial masks on the fencers. But soon figured out where I wanted to go from there.
